Thirty-one year old Quintin Son may not fit the profile of your average intern. One of forty-one (41) interns chosen for the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) Summer Employment Programme, Son is working in the LUCELEC Generation Department.

For gifted Saint Lucian science students, the national avenue to showcase their skill is the Science and Technology Fair organized by the Ministry of Education with sponsorship from the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC). This year, LUCELEC contributed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to the event that was held in March.

Close to one hundred (100) people attended the Town Hall Meeting in Dennery to discuss the proposed 12 megawatt (MW) wind farm to be located near the Bordelais Correctional Facility. The wind farm is a joint project of St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) and Windtex Energy, a wind developer from the US.

The meeting received presentations from the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, LUCELEC and Windtex Energy on the purpose, current status and implementation schedule for the wind farm.
