Castries, April 3, 2017St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) and the Civil Service Association (CSA) representing LUCELEC’s line staff met with the Labour Department on Monday, April 3, 2017. The meeting was an attempt to find a resolution to the impasse between LUCELEC and the CSA on the implementation of a grade structure for the line staff. The proposed grade structure is in keeping with what has been implemented for the rest of the staff.

A safety culture is theattitude, beliefs, perceptions and values that employees share in relation to safety in the workplace.” Ensuring the safety culture at the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) is understood and maintained by every employee and contractor is the fundamental tenet that informs the now 21 year old observance of Health and Safety Month. And because culture is ever changing, what began as a one week observance focused only on health and safety has since grown to one month with a focus on health, safety, environment and fire awareness.

Castries, January 12, 2017 – St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) is in receipt of a copy of a letter to the Minister of Labour from the Civil Service Association (CSA) giving notice of a dispute between the CSA and LUCELEC.  The letter also serves as notice of strike action.
