Twenty-nine Students Receive Summer Employment From LUCELEC

Twenty-nine (29) students were selected for the 2014 St Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) Summer Employment Programme. Beginning in the early 1980s, the programme facilitates internships for students on summer vacation from secondary schools, the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, as well as provides employment for students on vacation from university.

LUCELEC Scholarship Programme Boasts 25 Students

Five students were welcomed into the Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) Secondary School Scholarship Programme on Saturday August 23, 2014. Their induction at the ninth annual Scholarship Social brings the total number of children in that programme to twenty-five (25).

The Secondary School Scholarship Programme began in 1985 and covers all approved textbooks and supplies, tuition and facilities fees, CXC Examination fees and uniforms. LUCELEC also provides each recipient with a school bag and notebooks.

LUCELEC SPISE Scholarship Recipient Continues to Excel

Gaius Hendrickson St Marie, the sixteen year old who was awarded a scholarship from the Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) to attend the prestigious SPISE Programme in Barbados has returned home with two awards.

St Marie was judged the “Most Outstanding” and recognized with the “John and Dorothy Herzog Award” for which he received the autobiography “Steve Jobs” by William Isaacson. In addition he was also awarded the “Most Improved Student in Electronics”.
