LUCELEC April Fuel Surcharge Adjusted Amid Rising Global Oil Prices

Castries, April 16, 2026 St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) advises its customers that there is a significant increase in the fuel surcharge applied to electricity bills for April 2026. This change is driven by current higher global oil prices affecting the cost of fuel used to generate electricity locally.

LUCELEC Announces A Significant Reduction In The Fuel Surcharge

The St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) says its customers will see a nearly 11% reduction in what they pay for electricity this month. 

The power company says the fuel surcharge applied to bills being distributed in November will result in a reduction of 13.7 cents per unit.  This reflects the lower average price the company paid for fuel in October as a result of lower fuel price hedges that the Company has in place for the last quarter of the year.

Castries, January 12, 2014 – The Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) advises that the fuel surcharge applied to bills for January 2015 is minus 4.7 cents per unit.  This means that for January customers will pay nearly 5 cents less per unit than the basic tariff for each category of customers.
