Castries, June 28, 2024 – St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC), in partnership with the Carnival Planning Management Committee (CPMC), is continuing its sponsorship support of the major National events for Lucian Carnival 2024.

These include the recently concluded Junior Calypso and the National Schools Panorama Festival and upcoming Calypso and Soca Monarch, Panorama and King & Queen of the Bands competitions. The Company has also increased its investment, moving from a Gold Sponsor in 2023 to Platinum Sponsor in 2024.

Castries, June 12, 2024 – Technical teams from the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) responded to reports of a member of the public sustaining an electrical shock, on Tuesday June 11, 2024, in Piaye, Choiseul.  Based on preliminary reports, the individual was fatally injured on a construction site while handling a metal object that came into contact with high-voltage power lines.

Castries, May 31, 2024 – St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) has issued refunds of VAT (Value Added Tax) charged on reconnection fees to over nineteen thousand customers for the period 2020-2023.  This follows a thorough reassessment prompted by a recent clarification of the December 30, 2019, amendment to the VAT Act that reversed the VAT previously charged on reconnection fees.
